The UK’s most innovative property management company, Capital Properties, has secured a prime spot in an entertaining ITV2 documentary The Office Xmas Party to showcase their dynamic approach to events, experiential marketing and installations for the property sector.

Capital Properties, which has a place in the Top 100 Great Places to Work, offers unique placemaking services in addition to service-led property management. Through its Capital Life arm, which has more than doubled in size this year, Capital Properties transforms places into destinations by creating and delivering dynamic events on behalf of clients to enhance their commercial assets.

The documentary, which airs on Wednesday 17th December at 9pm, follows the Capital Life team as they prepare, plan and execute their riskiest and most ambitious internal event ever. Hosted on the roof of Birmingham’s iconic Fort Dunlop building, the Christmas party has been a top-secret project for seven weeks bringing together two spaces under an icy woodland and Narnia-inspired theme.  A giant tepee with log fires and Yuletide merriment will transform one half of the roof, while a lavish igloo nightclub will dominate the other half.

The team has gone above and beyond what is ordinarily expected of a ‘traditional’ property management company to demonstrate their creative approach and company values, from measuring the daily wind speeds on the roof to dressing their company van as a Santamobile.

Mark Burgess, Managing Director of Capital Properties, comments: “Our Christmas party will show that we are a property management company with a difference, putting personality back into property.

“We offer our clients unique placemaking services and what better way to showcase our expertise, than through taking part in a documentary that celebrates some of the most extravagant and innovative Christmas events in the UK.

“We pride ourselves in helping our clients establish a sense of place and identity for their assets and believe that our approach to property management will shake up the property sector.”

Capital Properties currently manages over five million sq. ft. worth of commercial space across the UK, including Fort Dunlop. Its rapid growth has also seen the appointment of former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan as Leadership & Development Director, as well as the extension of the Manchester-based team with the opening of new offices in London and Birmingham.

It’s exciting times ahead for The Cube, as EDG Property secures Echelon Group for what’s tipped to be one of Birmingham’s most fashionable hang-outs.

As part of Echelon Group’s aggressive growth plan, businessman Riad Erraji has taken 4500 sqft of reconfigured space at The Cube for his upmarket wet-led concept. The high profile venue will join the likes of Marco’s Laurent Perrier Champagne Bar, also in The Cube, as a place to be seen in Birmingham.

Fit out on Level 6 will commence in January 2015 with a Spring opening anticipated.

On Tuesday 2nd December, Neil Edginton of EDG Property welcomed The Cube community in the central atrium area to enjoy an evening of festive merriment and Gluhwein, hosted by The Management Team.

Enjoying food from Brazilian restaurant, Rodizio Rico, and the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse, Bar & Grill, guests were also treated to live music performed by choirs from across the region.

Derek Rossenrode, General Manager, commented; “We are delighted to once again host an event that sees the whole community from The Cube come together for an evening of fun and entertainment. It is a pleasure to always see old faces, as well as some new ones and thank them for their continuing support of this fantastic building.”

The event was also an opportunity to inform guests of the latest platform to help them keep up to date with The Cube’s news, events and offers – The Cube App. The app is now available to download on Android and Apple phones, free of charge, from the App Store or Google Play and boasts a range of offers that can be redeemed at various outlets at The Cube.

Having been The Cube’s first commercial tenant back in 2010, The Highways Agency has now signed with EDG Property to secure even more space at this landmark address.

Neil Edginton of EDG Property secured the Department of Transport’s Executive Agency for The Cube over 4 years ago with a letting of 60,000 sqft across three floors.  And now, the executive agency sponsored by the Department of Transport are all set to occupy a further 8,000 sqft on Level 8 with EDG managing the fit-out ready for their occupation in March 2015.

This is a great testament for Birmingham’s iconic building, having already enjoyed the state-of-the-art facilities and convenience of the B1 address, with the Highways Agency soon to occupy 4 floors of the 25 storey tower.

EDG Property is working alongside London headquartered Tristan Capital Partners to asset manage and develop Fort Dunlop, following the building acquisition from Urban Splash in August 2014. This latest deal marks £390m of assets under management and/or development for EDG Property.

Originally built in 1920 and standing empty for 22 years prior to redevelopment in the 2000’s, Fort Dunlop is already an award winning Birmingham landmark, primarily Grade A office-led. There are now exciting plans to further enhance the asset and create a sustainable mixed-use destination.

EDG Property and Tristan Capital Partners are working to improve the surrounding realm, enhance common parts and inject new life into the leisure aspect of the scheme. Already a successful office development, work will now begin in order to provide complimentary offers to support the office occupiers. Watch this space for exciting plans at Fort Dunlop.
