Spectus start construction at The School Yard
It’s been an exciting week at The School Yard with work commencing on EDG Property’s residential building with Spectus Construction having been awarded the £2.1m build contract for phase 2 of the Harborne scheme.
The Worcestershire based Spectus Construction is all set to deliver the final part of this successful mixed-use development with a contemporary zinc building home to thirteen boutique apartments, duplexes and townhouse. It will be the first of its kind locally and shall sit alongside the oasis of the new £1/4m private square and period charm of the clock tower buildings.
Andy Griffiths of Spectus Construction said, “We are delighted to have been awarded the building contract at The School Yard. We specialise in building boutique schemes and we look forward to bringing our skill-set to Harborne. We have already met the immediate neighbours and have presented to the Harborne Business Association. Next step is to set up the site compound and start the ground works, both of which have started this week.”
Build completion is scheduled for Autumn next year and around two-thirds of the homes at The School Yard are already sold off-plan.
Developer Neil Edginton of EDG Property said, “With the fit out of Harborne Food School now underway and our partners Prezzo, Boston Tea Party and Urban Coffee Company all open for business, the interest in The School Yard continues to grow. We now turn to Spectus Construction to deliver our vision for the residential and look forward to watching the new building take shape.”
